NES for HSQLDB 2.5.x Setup

Setup Instructions

NES for HSQLDB 2.5.x requires Java 8+.

Configure Registry

Create or update your registry configuration:

Maven (~/.m2/settings.xml)

From 2.5.4, HSQLDB denies SQL access to Java methods unless the hsqldb.method_class_names system property allows them; java.lang.Math methods stay allowed. If your database defines Java routines (CREATE FUNCTION or CREATE PROCEDURE with LANGUAGE JAVA, or CREATE ALIAS), set the property on the java command line before you upgrade, or the database won't open. For example, -Dhsqldb.method_class_names="com.example.DateUtils.*" allows every method in that class. See the 2.5.4 release notes for details.

Add the NES repository and dependencies to your build configuration. NES for HSQLDB keeps the upstream org.hsqldb Maven coordinates, so only the version changes:

Build

In order to remove potential obstacles before building your project, make sure the following domains are whitelisted by your firewall/networking team:

registry.nes.herodevs.com
assets.nes.herodevs.com

This will ensure that your network/firewall allows connection to our registry.

Run your build tool:

Gradle

mvn clean package

Verification

To verify your installation, check that:

Dependencies are downloaded successfully
No version conflicts are reported in your build
Your application starts without errors
