6.1 Web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs) are small image files embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to confirm whether a page was viewed or an email was opened, and to measure engagement. Most email clients have settings that allow you to prevent the automatic downloading of images, which will disable web beacons in email messages you read.
